Volunteer Application for Special Needs Family Camp

Dates: July 19-21, 2024

We have three (3) opportunities for you to serve families during our Special Needs Family Camp. Please review them below to determine which is best suited to your interests and availability.

1. Special Needs Buddies – Volunteer exclusively paired 1:1 with a special needs child of any age/disability for the entire weekend. (Minimum age: 18). Requirements:

Participation in the mandatory training session: Wednesday, June 19th, from 5-8pm at St Charles Borromeo Parish Hall. Address: 2802 Cadiz St, San Diego, CA 92110
Arrival at camp on Friday, July 19 at 1 p.m. through Sunday, July 21 at 1 p.m.
Lodging is provided at no cost; a meal donation of $50 for the weekend is strongly encouraged.
No experience with the special needs community is required but preferred.

2. Day of Volunteers – Volunteer to assist with camp activities (i.e., meal support, activity support, set-up/clean-up) for special needs children and their family members (Minimum age: 18). Requirements:

Arrival at camp for one or more volunteer sessions (no overnight option):
- Saturday, July 20: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (lunch provided)
- Saturday, July 20: 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. (dinner provided)
- Saturday, July 20, ALL DAY: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Arrival and departure times flexible)
- Sunday, July 21: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (lunch provided)
- Sunday, July 21: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (no meal provided)
- Sunday, July 21, ALL DAY: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Arrival and departure times flexible)
No experience with the special needs community is required, but preferred

3. Child Care Assistant (CCA) – Students entering 9^th – 12^th grade may volunteer as a CCA. View details >
